About Pierre Part
Pierre Part is a census-designated place of about 3,000 residents in Assumption Parish on the shores of Lake Verret — a proudly French-speaking Cajun fishing community famous for crawfish, alligators, and swamp culture (it's the hometown of Swamp People's Troy Landry). The 1973 Mississippi River flood inundated the town (shown in the Commons photos below), and flood memory still shapes local life.
