Fair Housing
Our Fair Housing Commitment

The Referral Shop is committed to compliance with the federal Fair Housing Act and all applicable state and local fair housing laws. We follow the federal Fair Housing Act and Connecticut fair housing laws. Under federal law we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin. Connecticut law (Conn. Gen. Stat. § 46a-64c and § 46a-81e) additionally protects ancestry, creed, marital status, age, lawful source of income, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, learning disability, veteran status, and status as a victim of sexual assault or trafficking in persons.
How our town match works
The town match uses only the housing, commute, and lifestyle preferences you provide. It does not use protected characteristics, neighborhood demographics, or steering criteria of any kind.
Preferences we will not accept
It is unlawful — and against our policy — to consider a preference or limitation based on a protected class when providing real estate services. We will not accept, act on, or facilitate any request that is based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, national origin, ancestry, creed, marital status, age, lawful source of income, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, learning disability, veteran status, or any other class protected under federal, Connecticut, or local law. Any such request will result in the immediate termination of our services to that visitor.
Agent introductions
Agents we introduce are independent real estate licensees who must hold an active real estate license in the state where the property is located. We expect every agent we work with to comply fully with all fair housing laws.
