Angola is a village in southwestern Erie County, New York, within the Town of Evans, a few miles inland from Lake Erie. It's a small lake-country village with a historic downtown, known for the 1867 Angola train wreck — one of the worst railroad disasters of the 19th century — and easy access to lakefront parks.
