About Addison
A village of about 35,702 (2020 census) in DuPage County, roughly 20 miles west of Chicago on Salt Creek, Addison is a working-to-middle-class suburb with a strong industrial and logistics base near O'Hare. Incorporated in 1884 (originally Dunkley's Grove) and named for 18th-century writer Joseph Addison, it suburbanized rapidly in the 1960s–70s from farmland.
