About Yellow Springs
Yellow Springs is an artsy, progressive village in northern Greene County (population 3,697 at the 2020 census), part of the Dayton metro area and home to Antioch College. Founded in 1825 by William Mills and about 100 followers of Robert Owen as a utopian community, it was named for nearby natural springs with iron-rich waters.
