About Cooke Township
Cooke Township is a tiny mountain township of about 200 people (204 at the 2020 census) in southwestern Cumberland County, almost entirely within Michaux State Forest and South Mountain. It is best known as the home of Pine Grove Furnace State Park — the historic iron-furnace village, two mountain lakes, and the midpoint of the Appalachian Trail.
