About Kemah
Kemah (pop. 1,807, 2020 census) is a tiny waterfront city on west Galveston Bay at the mouth of the Clear Creek Channel, nicknamed "Gateway to the Bay." A former fishing town and Maceo-era casino district, it reinvented itself in the late 1990s with Landry's Kemah Boardwalk and is now a regional tourist draw — ranked the top tourism spot in Greater Houston in 2012.
