Incorporated in 1959 and named for the Sea Ranch Hotel, it comprises roughly 200 single-family homes around two freshwater lakes, guarded by a gatehouse that doubles as the village police station. The private Sea Ranch Lakes Beach Club owns the streets, medians, and parks and offers residents pool and beach access.
