About Caswell Beach
Caswell Beach is a small seaside town of about 400 on the east end of Oak Island in Brunswick County, North Carolina, at the mouth of the Cape Fear River. Incorporated in 1975 and named for Fort Caswell (1825), its landmarks are the Oak Island Lighthouse (1958, town-owned since 2004) and the Oak Island Golf Club — the only business in town and one of few 18-hole courses on a NC barrier island. The town won a national award for its restored beach in 2002.
