About Brooks
Brooks is a tiny town in southern Fayette County, with 568 residents in the 2020 census (up from 524 in 2010). First called "Haistentown" after its earliest white settlers, it took the name Brooks in 1905 for Hillery Brooks, a local planter who contributed to the railroad and a much-needed depot.
