About Jasper
Jasper is a city in and the county seat of Pickens County, Georgia, calling itself the "First Mountain City." The population was 4,084 in the 2020 census. Founded in 1853 as seat of the newly formed Pickens County, it was incorporated as a town in 1857 and as a city in 1957, named for Revolutionary War hero William Jasper.
