About McDonough
McDonough is the county seat of Henry County and one of metro Atlanta's fastest-growing south-side suburbs, with 29,051 residents in the 2020 census (2025 estimate: 33,395). Nicknamed "The Geranium City" for its annual Geranium Festival, it was founded in 1823 and named for naval officer Commodore Thomas Macdonough.
