Newborn is a town in Newton County, with 676 residents in the 2020 census (2024 estimate: ~752). After hearing a sermon by the 19th-century evangelist Samuel Porter Jones, the town adopted the name "Newborn," after the concept of being born again in Evangelical Christianity; the Georgia General Assembly incorporated it in 1894.
