About Tyrone
Tyrone is a small town in the northwest corner of Fayette County, with 7,658 residents in the 2020 census (up from 6,888 in 2010). Incorporated on August 18, 1911, it was reportedly named by Irish and Scottish immigrant railroad workers who found the topography reminiscent of County Tyrone in Ireland.
