About Woodbury
Woodbury is a city in Meriwether County with 908 residents in the 2020 census. One of the county's oldest towns, it grew up about ten miles southeast of Greenville in the late 1820s — first named Sandtown for its white sand, then Woodberry when the post office opened in 1845, with the spelling officially changed to Woodbury in 1854.
