About Carol Stream
A village of about 39,854 (2020 census) in DuPage County, Carol Stream is a postwar planned community incorporated on January 5, 1959, and named for the daughter of its founder, Jay Stream — one of the few American communities named for a living person (Carol Stream herself later moved to Arizona and died in 2020). The area's claim to television history: a local farm hosted NBC's first outdoor telecast in 1954.
