About Lombard
A village of about 44,476 (2020 census) in DuPage County, roughly 20 miles west of Chicago, Lombard is "The Lilac Village" — named for Colonel Plum's 1927 bequest of his lilac garden, now Lilacia Park, home of the annual Lilac Festival (running since 1930). Incorporated in 1869 and named for Chicago banker Josia Lewis Lombard, it shares early roots with Glen Ellyn in Babcock's Grove.
