About Winfield
Winfield is a young, fast-growing town in south-central Lake County between Crown Point and Valparaiso, in the Chicagoland metropolitan area. Incorporated August 31, 1993 by local residents to avoid annexation by Merrillville — about 1,000 residents at the time — it is one of Indiana's youngest municipalities and has been one of the state's fastest-growing communities.
