Geneva is a small city in Ashtabula County with just over 6,000 residents, about 45 miles northeast of Cleveland. U.S. Route 20 — the longest road in the United States — intersects Route 534 in downtown Geneva (Wikipedia, "Geneva, Ohio", read September 24, 2026). It is best known for the annual Geneva Grape Jamboree, its place in the Grand River Valley wine region, and as the birthplace of automotive pioneer Ransom E. Olds (Oldsmobile, REO) and Platt Rogers Spencer, inventor of Spencerian script. In 1966 the city famously "claimed ownership of the moon" with a signed Declaration of Lunar Ownership during its centennial.
