Moving to Vinton, TX
About Vinton
Vinton is a small village in far northwest El Paso County along the historic Camino Real (~2,684 residents at the 2020 census). The area has deep roots: the Butterfield Overland Mail stagecoach line passed through, and the Texas & Pacific Railroad (later the Southern Pacific) built through in 1881. Cottonwood Station served as a stage stop, and the community grew around agriculture and later the Border Steel mill (steel industry arrived in the 1950s–60s). Vinton incorporated as a village in 1961. Today it is a quiet, affordable community straddling I-10 between Anthony and Canutillo, with desert views of the Franklin Mountains to the east.
