About Maynardville
Maynardville is a city of about 2,413 (2020 Census) and the county seat of Union County, on TN-33 (Maynardville Highway) between Knoxville and Tazewell. Named for Congressman Horace Maynard, it is famously the birthplace of Roy Acuff (1903), the "King of Country Music" — the town's museum and library are both named for him.
