About Elko New Market

Elko New Market (~4,800 in 2020) was formed in 2006 when the neighboring cities of Elko (a railway village since 1858) and New Market merged by referendum, effective January 1, 2007 (per Wikipedia, read September 24, 2026). It sits on I-35 midway between Minneapolis and Faribault, in the southern exurban belt.
