About Eden
Eden is a census-designated place in the Ogden Valley of Weber County, set between the North and Middle Fork of the Ogden River, north of Pineview Reservoir, at about 4,944 feet elevation. It is home to Powder Mountain ski resort and a community of about 690 residents (2020 Census). Settled in 1859 by fifteen families via North Ogden Canyon and Pass, it was named "Eden" by government surveyor Washington Jenkins for its beauty (an earlier temporary name was North Fork Town). In November 2024 voters approved incorporating much of Ogden Valley — including Eden — as the new Ogden Valley City (first elected mayor and council took office in January 2026).
