About Mountain Green

Mountain Green is a census-designated place in northwestern Morgan County, at the east end of lower Weber Canyon, just north of I-84 at the Trappers Loop (State Route 167) interchange. Sixteen miles up the Weber River from Ogden, it is the world headquarters of the Browning Arms Company and home to 4,231 residents (2020 Census) — the county's largest community. Near here in 1825, Peter Skene Ogden's Hudson's Bay Company trappers nearly clashed with American trappers at Deserter Point.
