About McKenney
McKenney is a tiny incorporated railroad town (2020 population 457) in Dinwiddie County, and the county's largest town. It grew up along the Richmond, Petersburg and Carolina Railroad (completed 1900, later Seaboard Air Line's "S-line"), and its historic core reflects that rail heritage. Surrounding countryside holds several National Register-listed historic properties (per Wikipedia, read September 24, 2026).
