About Faith
Faith (819 residents at the 2020 census) is a small town in eastern Rowan County incorporated in 1903. Local tradition says it was named for a remark by newspaper writer John Thomas Wyatt, who opened a quarry on a rocky plot and said he was building it "on faith" (per Visit Rowan County, read September 24, 2026). Faith is nationally known for its Fourth of July celebration, held since 1946: a week-long hometown event — one of the largest Independence Day celebrations in North Carolina — whose mile-and-a-half parade draws an estimated 30,000 spectators.
