About Morven
Morven (population 328 at the 2020 census; roughly 327 by 2024 estimates) is a southern Anson County town near the South Carolina line along US-52, about 60 miles south-southeast of Uptown Charlotte. Founded 1823 and incorporated in 1883, Morven was settled by Highland Scots with roots on Scotland's west coast in the late 1700s. Its post office was established in 1823 and named for Morven, Scotland — the home of Esperon Cameron McKenzie, mother of Hugh McKenzie, the first postmaster.
