About Clinton
Clinton (Laurens County, population ~7,600 in 2020) is a college town anchored by Presbyterian College (founded 1880), with Georgian Revival architecture, Blue Hose athletics, and a growing downtown. Once a mill town, it also hosts Thornwell, the Presbyterian orphanage founded in 1875 that still serves children and families. Downtown has grown in recent years, with enormous public murals ("Clinton Canopy," train scene) by Upstate artist Janette Marvin. The PC campus was a filming location for the thriller "Sleeping With the Enemy." I-26 access gives easy reach to Greenville, Spartanburg, and Columbia.
