Moving to Pelzer, SC
About Pelzer
Pelzer was founded in 1881 with one of the first cotton mills in Anderson County on the Saluda River, and built four mills in its first 15 years using the newest technology of the day. The mill town thrived for decades (later making Gerber Onesies until 1990). In 2015 the upper and lower mill villages were annexed, uniting the town as it exists today. Pelzer retains three miles of Saluda riverfront with ADA-accessible kayak launches and boat ramps, a quaint historic identity, and a town-wide trail master plan connecting to West Pelzer and Williamston. Mill village homes are being renovated at the fastest pace in years.
