About Keystone Heights
Keystone Heights is a small lake-region city in southwest Clay County, roughly 1,446 residents at the 2020 census. Built around a chain of lakes — Lake Geneva, Lake Brooklyn and Keystone Lake — it grew as a vacation and still carries that laid-back, lake-cottage character: sandy lake beaches, pavilions and a modest downtown along SR 100. Housing is a mix of lake cottages, bungalows, and newer subdivisions, generally affordable relative to northeast Florida. It is the most remote Clay County city from Jacksonville, with a long but rural, easy commute.
