About Hopatcong

Hopatcong is a lake borough on the Sussex County side of Lake Hopatcong — New Jersey's largest freshwater lake — with a classic lake-town feel: marinas, waterfront restaurants, summer cottages, and year-round homes climbing the hills above the water. Once a storied early-1900s resort (Bertrand Island amusement park), it is now a middle-class commuter borough with its own K–12 school district and Hopatcong State Park on the lake's shore.
