About North Hills

The Incorporated Village of North Hills is in the Town of North Hempstead — about 2.8 square miles of rolling hills between Manhasset and Roslyn, adjacent to Interstate 495 and the Northern State Parkway (per en.wikipedia.org via Alchetron). Glacial action deposited Shelter Rock — a giant erratic that gave Shelter Rock Road its name — about 11,000 years ago, and the Matinecock had a village in the area.
