Ocean Township (about 8,800 residents, 2020 census) is a Pine Barrens-and-bay township in southern Ocean County centered on the village of Waretown, with Brookville to the west and the Barnegat Bay waterfront to the east. It is a spread-out, affordable corner of the county where the Pine Barrens meet the bay — boat ramps and trailheads more than boardwalks.
