About Santa Paula

Santa Paula calls itself the "Citrus Capital of the World," a heritage farm town in the Santa Clara River Valley with one of Southern California's best-preserved historic downtowns. The 1890 Union Oil Company Building — birthplace of Union Oil (Unocal) — now houses the California Oil Museum, and murals celebrating the citrus industry line Main Street. Santa Paula Airport, a vintage general-aviation field in the middle of town, hosts air shows and a flying community. Housing is among the county's most affordable, with historic homes near downtown and newer tracts on the edges; the economy centers on agriculture, oil, and small business.
