About DeLand

Founded in 1876 and nicknamed "The Athens of Florida," it is home to Stetson University — Florida's oldest private college — and a vibrant downtown along Woodland Boulevard lined with historic masonry buildings. DeLand was the first city in Florida to have electric street lighting. The Museum of Art - DeLand and a busy MainStreet district give it a distinct college-town character.
