About Broomfield
Broomfield (population 74,112 in 2020) is a consolidated city and county — Colorado's newest county, created by voters in 2001 from pieces of Adams, Boulder, Jefferson, and Weld counties. Named for the broomcorn once grown on its farms, it grew from coal-mining and agricultural roots into a tech-and-office corridor along US-36 between Denver and Boulder, anchored by FlatIron Crossing retail and the Interlocken business park. The Broomfield County Commons and the Paul Derda Recreation Center anchor civic life.
