Castle Pines (population 11,036 in 2020) is a Douglas County city about 20 miles south of downtown Denver, incorporated in 2008 from the Castle Pines North community. A master-planned community of homes around The Ridge at Castle Pines (formerly Castle Pines Golf Club's public course) and the private Sanctuary golf course, it pairs gated and golf-course living with quick I-25 access. Not to be confused with neighboring Castle Pines Village, a separate town. Douglas County schools serve the city.
