About Georgetown
Georgetown (population 1,118 in 2020) is the Clear Creek County seat, about 35 miles west of downtown Denver on I-70. Founded in 1859 during the Pike's Peak gold rush, it was once called the "Silver Queen of Colorado" and today is one of the state's best-preserved Victorian mining towns — the Georgetown–Silver Plume National Historic Landmark District.
