About Lakeside
Lakeside (population 16 in 2020) is Colorado's smallest incorporated town — a Jefferson County enclave of about 0.25 square miles on the west shore of Sloan's Lake, about 6 miles west of downtown Denver. Incorporated in 1907 specifically to serve the Lakeside Amusement Park, the 1908 trolley park that still comprises nearly half the town, it remains a single-purpose amusement-park town with a handful of residents. The park's Tower of Jewels and art-deco rides are National Register landmarks.
