About Kapolei
Kapolei — the Kapolei census-designated place (2020 population 21,411) — is Oʻahu's "Second City," a planned urban center on the leeward coast developed by the James Campbell Company from former sugarcane land. It anchors the island's fastest-growing region with Ka Makana Aliʻi mall, the Kapolei Commons, University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu, Wet'n'Wild Hawaii, and the western terminus of the Skyline rail line (Kualakaʻi/East Kapolei). Housing is mostly newer single-family subdivisions, townhomes, and condos. The adjacent Ko Olina resort district (Aulani, Four Seasons) sits just west.
