About Magee
Magee is the largest city in Simpson County (about 4,200 residents), sitting on US-49 between Jackson and Hattiesburg at the junction of Highways 541, 545, and 28. First settled around 1820 by Arthur Mangum and Phil Magee (Willis Magee built a grist mill on Little Goodwater Creek in 1840), it incorporated as a village on February 25, 1900.
