About Avoca
Avoca is a city of about 1,680 people (2020 Census: 1,683) in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Founded in 1869 with the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad and named for the River Avoca in Ireland ("the meeting of the waters"), it sits in the Loess Hills between the branches of the Nishnabotna River.
