About Salt Lake
Salt Lake — also known as Āliamanu, after the nearby crater — is a residential district of Urban Honolulu built around an actual salt lake, midway between downtown and Pearl Harbor. Developed largely in the 1960s–70s with condos, townhomes, and single-family homes, it is a convenient, relatively affordable in-town option popular with military families (near Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and Camp Smith) and downtown workers. The Salt Lake Shopping Center and district park anchor daily life.
