Amity is a small farming and wine-country town (2020 census population 1,757), established by Oregon Trail settlers and incorporated in 1880, on OR-99W south of McMinnville. It sits at the western edge of the Eola-Amity Hills, surrounded by vineyards, orchards, and farmland. Amity is one of the quietest and most affordable-feeling of Yamhill County's small towns, with a compact historic downtown and an agricultural economy increasingly tied to the wine industry.
