Banks is a small farm town of about 1,800 on OR-6/OR-47, roughly 27 miles west of downtown Portland, where the Tualatin Valley meets the Coast Range foothills. It's the eastern trailhead of the Banks-Vernonia State Trail (a 21-mile rail-trail through the woods) and home to the Sunset Speedway. Housing is modest single-family homes on larger lots, with a rural feel and easy access to L.L. Stub Stewart State Park.
