About Gentry
Gentry is a city in western Benton County, founded in 1894 along the Kansas City Southern Railroad as "Orchard City" — an apple-orchard town whose name changed to Gentry after a railroad construction official. When the apple industry declined in the 1930s, it pivoted to poultry like much of Northwest Arkansas. The population was 3,790 at the 2020 census (estimated 4,899 in 2025).
