Greenland is a city (1,213 residents at the 2020 census) in the Boston Mountains immediately south of Fayetteville. Early settlers grew fruit and raised chickens; the St. Louis–San Francisco Railway's arrival in 1882 fueled the economy and the city incorporated in 1910. Together, I-49 and US-71 through town form the Boston Mountains Scenic Loop, one of Arkansas's scenic byways (per Wikipedia, read September 24, 2026).
