Springdale is the metro's industrial engine and Arkansas's fourth-largest city (84,161 at the 2020 census, estimated 90,685 in 2025), spanning Washington and Benton counties on the Springfield Plateau. It is home to the world headquarters of Tyson Foods — the world's largest meat producer — and is officially "The Poultry Capital of the World." The former city of Bethel Heights was annexed into Springdale in August 2020.
