About Winslow
Winslow is a city (365 residents at the 2020 census) in southern Washington County, deep in the Boston Mountains. Founded as a stagecoach stop called Summit Home (post office 1876), it boomed when the Winslow Tunnel let the Frisco Railroad through the steep mountains, and was renamed in 1881 for Frisco president Edward F. Winslow. At the end of the 19th century it was a resort town known for its picturesque peaks.
