About Vernon
Vernon (motto "The Crossroads for Opportunity") is the most populous town in Tolland County, about 30,200 people northeast of Hartford. Incorporated in 1808 from Bolton and named for George Washington's Mount Vernon, it absorbed the former City of Rockville in 1965.
